He was a great journalist and a supporter and member of the National American Arab Journalists Association.

Endless Saga: Government by Committee. City Clerk Susana Mendoza dropped the winning City Sticker design after a controversial police blog criticized it saying it symbolized street gangs, taking the award away from a Hispanic kid and giving it to an Irish kid ... they didn't like the way the fingers were painted on the hands reaching up for help from First Responders. Read story? Now, Mendosa announced they will drop the other design, too. Read story.

I say Give it Back to the first kid who won and put his design on the sticker and tell the extremist morons in the community to shove it!

He was prosecuted and convicted of two alleged crimes for that nonviolent action, along with other student protesters. These crimes were: Disruption of a public meeting and conspiracy to disrupt a public meeting. The pro-Israeli movement, which easily manipulates justice in this country, forced the local police to file charges against Shabaik for expressing his American rights to free speech.
